- The Cayre Group was founded in 1987 as Kids Today™, a manufacturer
and marketer of newborn, infants and toddler sportswear.
- In 1993, United Sweater Mills was purchased, giving the company domestic
capability for quick turn, coupled with top quality knitting facilities.
- In 1998, Intimate Concepts™ was opened, putting the company solidly in the
sleepwear and loungewear business for Juniors, Misses and Plus Sizes and rounding
out its product category assortment.
|
- In 1990, Cayset Fashions™ was opened as a division focused on
sportswear and sweaters for Misses and Plus Sizes.
Having developed these house brands, senior management now saw the need
for a national branding strategy as a way to ensure continued double-digit growth.
- With the acquisition of the licenses for Mudd™ in 2000 and Buster Brown™ in 2003 to
strengthen its strategic growth and market profile, the company is positioned to contribute
to and continue the double-digit per annum growth rate that it has enjoyed since its
inception -a remarkable feat and testament to its discipline, focus and operational efficiencies.
- In November 2003, the corporate name was changed to The Cayre Group, Ltd
in recognition of its multi-divisional structure and national
brand portfolio.
